Handwara, Apr 12: A tragic road accident in the Vodhpora area of Handwara claimed the life of a female student and left 14 others injured after a Government Degree College (GDC) Handwara bus met with an accident on Saturday.
Reports said the bus was travelling from Lolab to GDC Handwara when it crashed at Vodhpora. The impact resulted in the immediate death of one girl student, while 14 others suffered injuries, with three reported to be in critical condition.
A senior hospital official confirmed, โOne female student has died, three others are critically injured, and 11 students are being treated for various injuries.โ
All injured students were swiftly taken to the hospital, where medical teams are monitoring the critically wounded.
A police officer confirmed the accident and said an investigation has been launched to determine its cause. Further details are awaited.
