Ganderbal, June 01: The first group of devotees reached Ganderbal district on Sunday ahead of the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela, set to take place on June 3. The event holds deep religious importance for the Kashmiri Pandit community and is expected to draw pilgrims from across India.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the event at the sacred Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tulmulla, the district administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore, has made comprehensive arrangements.

โ€œAll necessary services like food, sanitation, medical facilities, and other essentials are in place. Additionally, tight security measures have been taken to ensure a peaceful and seamless experience for pilgrims,โ€ DC Kishore told reporters.

He also noted that the administration warmly welcomes the devotees and anticipates a large turnout for the Mela. Pilgrims arriving at the temple expressed satisfaction with the facilities provided.

โ€œWe were greeted with refreshments on arrival. The arrangements are excellent, and the environment feels safe and calm,โ€ shared a pilgrim.

Heavy deployment of security forces has been ensured around the temple complex, with checkpoints and surveillance in place to maintain order and safety throughout the event.

As one of the most important religious events for the Kashmiri Pandits, this yearโ€™s Kheer Bhawani Mela is expected to see increased participation, especially from members of the displaced community returning to reconnect with their heritage.
