Srinagar, Apr 8 : Three more political parties—Jammu Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and Kashmir Freedom Front—have officially parted ways with the Hurriyat Conference.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed the move, calling it a strong reflection of the growing trust of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the Indian Constitution. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a united and empowered India has received further validation through this development.
With this, a total of 11 separatist-aligned parties have now distanced themselves from the Hurriyat and pledged their support to India’s democratic values.
Calling the move a significant step toward peace, democracy, and progress in the region, Shah stated it lays a solid foundation for lasting stability and deeper integration of Kashmir with the rest of the country.
