Yemen, April 18 โ At least 38 people were killed and over 100 injured after a U.S. military strike targeted the Ras Isa port in Yemenโs Hodeidah governorate, according to the local health office, Al Jazeera reported.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military confirmed intercepting a missile launched from Yemen towards Israeli territory.
In related developments, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Speaking during a pre-election debate, Carney urged Israel to end its blockade of the Gaza Strip and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid. He also demanded the release of hostages and reiterated support for a two-state solution.
On the ground in Gaza, at least 32 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Thursday, including 13 members of a single family in Khan Younis, according to Al Jazeera. Earlier in the day, another family was reportedly killed in an Israeli strike on tent shelters in southern Khan Younis.
Gazaโs Health Ministry has confirmed 51,065 deaths and 116,505 injuries since the beginning of Israelโs offensive. The Gaza Government Media Office estimates the death toll at over 61,700, including those presumed dead under rubble. In Israel, 1,139 people were killed during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 were taken hostage.
