New Delhi, May 11: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded Operation Sindoor on Sunday, stating that Indian armed forces have delivered a strong response to anti-India forces operating from Pakistan.
While virtually inaugurating the BrahMos Aerospace Integration and Testing Facility in Lucknow, Singh called the operation a reflection of Indiaโs political resolve, military power, and unwavering stance against terrorism.
โIndia is among the worldโs most powerful nations and continues to grow stronger. The Indian forces have brought justice to those who harmed the nation and supported terrorism, especially through Operation Sindoor. The entire country stands in respect of our brave soldiers,โ Singh said.
He described Operation Sindoor as more than just a military maneuverโit symbolizes Indiaโs determination on political, social, and defense fronts. Singh stated that the operation proved that even areas across the border arenโt safe for those supporting terror.
โThe operation aimed to destroy terror infrastructure within Pakistan. While we avoided civilian harm, Pakistan deliberately targeted Indian civilian zones, including religious sites. In response, our forces acted with bravery and precision, hitting key locations in Pakistan,โ Singh added.
He emphasized that India’s strikes extended beyond border military posts, reaching deep into Pakistan, including Rawalpindi, the base of the Pakistani Army. Recalling previous responses to attacksโlike the surgical strikes after Uri and the Balakot airstrike after PulwamaโSingh said the Pahalgam incident has now led to another decisive blow under Operation Sindoor.
Reaffirming Indiaโs zero-tolerance approach to terrorism, Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that the โNew Indiaโ will take firm actions both within its borders and beyond to counter terror threats.
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was Indiaโs response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people. The operation targeted nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, following provocations from Pakistan including shelling and drone incursions.
