Sopore, May 20: Police in Sopore, in coordination with revenue authorities, have attached 29 marlas of land belonging to three Pakistan-based terror operatives — Arshid Ahmad Teli of Nowpora Tujjar, and Firdous Ahmad Dar alias Umar Dar and Nazir Ahmad Dar alias Shabir Illahi, both residents of Harwan.
The land seizure is linked to FIR No. 28/2008, registered at Sopore Police Station under the EMICO Act (Sections 2/3), IPC Sections 120-B and 121, and Sections 7/25–27 of the Arms Act. The action was carried out under Sections 82 and 83 of the CrPC, with prior approval from the competent court. The three individuals had earlier been declared proclaimed offenders.
Authorities say the move is part of ongoing efforts to exert legal pressure on the absconders and compel them to face trial.
