New Delhi, May 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the courage of Indiaโ€™s armed forces during Operation Sindoor, describing it as a defining moment in the global fight against terrorism. In his 122nd edition of Mann Ki Baat, the PM stated that the operation has sparked a renewed sense of confidence and enthusiasm both nationally and internationally.

โ€œToday, the entire country is united in its anger and determination against terrorism. The bravery shown by our soldiers in Operation Sindoor has made every Indian proud,โ€ PM Modi said. He described the operation as a symbol of Indiaโ€™s determination, bravery, and transformation, adding that it has ignited a wave of patriotism and national pride.

Highlighting the widespread support from the public, he noted that Tiranga Yatrasโ€”patriotic marches holding the national flagโ€”have taken place in numerous towns and villages across the country in solidarity with the armed forces. He also spoke of viral videos from Chandigarh where youth volunteered for Civil Defence, and others expressed their support through poems, songs, and paintings.

In an emotional note, the PM revealed that several families across cities like Katihar in Bihar and Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh have named their newborn children “Sindoor” to commemorate the operationโ€™s significance.

PM Modi emphasized the effective use of indigenous military equipment in the operation, reinforcing the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) vision. โ€œOur forces succeeded with courage and made-in-India weapons, showcasing our technological strength,โ€ he said.

He also shared anecdotes of families adopting more patriotic consumer habitsโ€”pledging to buy Indian-made toys and gifts, vacation in Indian destinations, and celebrate Indian craftsmanship.

Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, 2025, in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, was a coordinated military campaign by Indiaโ€™s tri-services. It demonstrated strategic precision, discipline, and the nationโ€™s firm stand against terrorism.
