Srinagar, May 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met with members of the Kashmir Women’s Organisation at Raj Bhawan, commending their efforts toward advancing women’s empowerment in the region.

 

During the interaction, the LG extended his congratulations to the organisation and praised the role of “Nari Shakti” in driving Jammu and Kashmir’s development. He highlighted the growing achievements of women across various fields, describing them as essential contributors to the Union Territory’s socio-economic progress.

 

“Our daughters are creating history and emerging as role models in multiple sectors,” said Sinha. “They are key to our development and central to building a self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir.”

 

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to gender equality, pointing to the Indian Constitution’s guarantee of equal rights for women. The LG also noted that recent years have seen enhanced efforts and dedicated programmes to support women’s empowerment, aiming to expand their participation in vital sectors.

 

Sinha expressed his good wishes to the Kashmir Women’s Organisation for their ongoing and future initiatives. The delegation, in turn, briefed the LG on various programmes they have undertaken to boost women’s participation in politics, community development, and empowerment.
