Srinagar, Apr 5: The Jammu and Kashmir government has labeled a petition concerning reservations as โ€œfrivolousโ€ and urged the High Court to dismiss it, as stated in an affidavit filed in the Zahoor Ahmed Bhat and Others vs UT of J&K case.

Notably, the affidavit does not mention the sub-committee that the government was reportedly said to have formed to examine reservation-related issues. This omission has sparked concerns about the administrationโ€™s commitment to its own decisions.

Reacting to this, senior political leader Sajad Lone remarked, โ€œThe government hasnโ€™t referred to the reservation sub-committee anywhere. Itโ€™s a legal puzzleโ€”suggesting that the government doesnโ€™t take its own committee seriously enough to even acknowledge it in court.โ€
