Ganderbal, June 30: The Directorate of Students Welfare (DSW), in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and the Health Centre of Central University of Kashmir (CUK), organized a social service and health camp for devotees attending the Mela Kheer Bhawani on Tuesday.

 

A large number of devotees, including men, women, and children from across the Valley and other parts of the country, visited the camp where refreshments were served by university volunteers, faculty, DSW and NSS members, and other staff. The visitors expressed their appreciation to the CUK team for their hospitality during the day-long event.

 

CUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, said the purpose of the camp was to support the devotees and help ensure a smooth pilgrimage. He praised the efforts of volunteers and staff, highlighting the universityโ€™s ongoing commitment to serving pilgrims during the annual Mela since its inception in Ganderbal.

 

Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, also lauded the team for their dedicated service.

 

Dean of DSW, Prof. Irfan Aalam, emphasized that such initiatives help foster a strong sense of civic responsibility and cultural understanding among students.
