The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, Moti Ram Jat, for alleged espionage and sharing sensitive security information with Pakistani intelligence officers.

According to an official statement released on Monday, Jat had been leaking classified national security details to Pakistani operatives since 2023 and was also receiving money through intermediaries in exchange for the information. He was apprehended in Delhi and has been placed in NIA custody until June 6, following orders from the Special Court at Patiala House.

In a separate but related development, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested Sahdev Singh Gohil, a multipurpose health worker from Kachchh district. Gohil allegedly shared sensitive visuals and details concerning Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian Navy installations with a Pakistani agent.

ATS officials said Gohil came into contact with a woman named Aditi Bharadwajโ€”later identified as a Pakistani operativeโ€”via WhatsApp in mid-2023. She reportedly persuaded him to share photos and videos of under-construction or recently completed military sites. Gohil continued these exchanges into 2025 and was compensated financially for the leaked material.

Both arrests underscore growing concerns about espionage activities targeting Indian defense and security infrastructure.
