Jammu, Apr 07: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday paid tribute to Assistant Commandant Vinay Prasad at the BSF’s Vinay Post, named in memory of the officer who lost his life in cross-border firing by Pakistani Rangers on January 15, 2019. Prasad was supervising an embankment project along the International Border when the Rangers opened fire. Despite retaliating, he sustained fatal injuries.
During his visit, Shah also reviewed high-tech surveillance equipment on display at the post. The Home Minister arrived in Jammu on Sunday evening as part of his three-day tour of the Union Territory.
