Weaponizing Transfers: A New Low in Political Vendetta By Sajad Lone
The government’s latest tactic of political retribution is both shameful and deeply concerning. While they have failed to reinstate Article 370, restore statehood, or stand up to the LG and Delhi, they have found success in punishing Kashmiri Muslims who did not vote for them.
In a glaring act of vendetta, two PHE employees in Handwara have been transferred to far-off locations—on mere suspicion that they might have voted for @JKPCOfficial. This is nothing short of political persecution, orchestrated by corrupt political bosses who, instead of addressing real governance issues, are busy settling personal scores.
Under the leadership of @manojsinha_, a structured transfer policy was introduced, putting an end to punitive transfers. However, this deeply flawed and discriminatory practice has now made a troubling comeback. And let’s be clear—such actions are targeted only at Kashmiri Muslims. In Jammu, this kind of political bullying wouldn’t dare take place; instead, there, political appeasement continues in full force.
This selective targeting and misuse of administrative power must be condemned in the strongest terms. The JKPC will not remain silent as government institutions are weaponized for political revenge. We urge the administration to immediately revoke these unjust transfers and stop treating governance as a tool for oppression.
Kashmiris will not be intimidated. We will stand firm against such injustices, and we will continue to fight for fairness, dignity, and democracy.
