Speaker Legislative Assembly Reviews Healthcare Facilities in Char-i-Sharief

Budgam, December 15 (TGT): Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, conducted an extensive inspection of healthcare institutions in Char-i-Sharief to evaluate their infrastructure and the quality of medical services provided to the local population.

During his visit, the Speaker inspected key facilities, including SDH Nagam, PHC Nowpora, PHC Dada-Ompora, PHC Kanir, and CHC Kremshore. He assessed critical aspects such as the functioning of essential health services, cleanliness, patient care, and the availability of medical equipment and medicines.

Interacting with medical staff and healthcare providers, the Speaker sought to understand the challenges faced in their daily operations. He assured them that steps would be taken to enhance infrastructure and facilities to better serve the growing healthcare needs of the community.

The Speaker also engaged with patients and their attendants to gather feedback on the quality of care they received. At SDH Nagam, local residents highlighted several pressing issues, including:

Construction of a retention wall and boundary wall for the hospital

Installation of a digital X-ray facility and deployment of an ultrasound specialist

Establishment of a biodegradable medical waste management shed

Installation of a lift and oxygen generation plant

Macadamization of the hospital’s approach road

Addressing these concerns, the Speaker assured the residents that their demands would be addressed promptly to improve healthcare delivery.

The visit was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Budgam, the Director of Health Services Kashmir, and other district and health officials, who pledged their support in implementing the necessary improvements.

This inspection reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and ensuring the well-being of residents in rural areas.
