Senior Pulmonologist Dr. Abid Shah Issues Advisory Amid Cold Wave
Srinagar: In light of the ongoing cold wave gripping the region, Senior Pulmonologist Dr. Abid Shah has issued an advisory urging minors and elderly individuals to exercise caution and prioritize their health.
Dr. Shah has recommended that children and senior citizens stay indoors during the early morning and evening hours when temperatures are at their lowest. This precaution, he stressed, is essential to reduce the risk of cold-related illnesses, especially among vulnerable groups.
“Prolonged exposure to extreme cold can lead to respiratory complications and other health concerns. It is imperative for parents and caregivers to ensure that children and elderly family members remain warm and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak cold hours,” said Dr. Shah.
He further advised wearing layered clothing, maintaining adequate indoor heating, and consuming warm fluids to help combat the effects of the cold wave.
This advisory comes as part of Dr. Shah’s ongoing efforts to promote public health and well-being during challenging weather conditions.
For further information or health-related assistance, individuals are encouraged to contact their nearest health center.
