In a sharp message to Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday asserted that nothing within the neighbouring country is beyond the reach of the Indian Armed Forces, following recent cross-border hostilities.
Addressing army personnel stationed along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Tangdhar sector, Sinha praised the militaryโs bravery and issued a stern warning in light of Pakistan’s continued support to terrorist groups.
โThe world has witnessed the courage of our armed forces. They (Pakistan) are now pleading globally,โ Sinha said. โWeโve never favoured warโwe seek peaceโbut any provocation will be met with decisive action.โ
Sinha added that India, now the fifth-largest global economy, is on track to become the fourth, driven by the vision of a developed and peaceful nation. In contrast, he accused Pakistan of trying to โdestroy humanity on the strength of debt,โ stating, โThere is nothing in Pakistan that the Indian Army cannot reach.โ
Earlier in the day, the LG visited areas along the Tangdhar sector that sustained damage due to Pakistani shelling. Touring affected villages with senior officials, Sinha met residents and assessed the destruction firsthand.
โMany homes and shops have been damaged. Immediate assistance has been extended, but itโs not enough,โ he said. โA joint plan will be prepared to evaluate and rehabilitate all affected families. Weโll seek support from the central government accordingly.โ
Meanwhile, the Indian Army launched a door-to-door outreach in border villages in Poonch, distributing medicines, food supplies, and other essentials to those impacted by recent shelling.
Residents expressed deep gratitude to the Army for its support. โOur homes were hit, but the Army stood with us, providing aid and reassurance,โ said one villager. Another added, โThey protect the borders, and we support them with equal spirit here in Poonch.โ
The recent conflict has left a trail of devastation across LoC villages, with widespread damage to homes and livelihoods. The administration continues to coordinate relief and rehabilitation in collaboration with defence forces.
