Sakeena Itoo Leads High-Level Meeting on Reservation Rules
Cabinet Sub-Committee Reviews Grievances and Policies to Address Aspirants’ Concerns
Jammu, January 22: Minister for Health, Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, chaired a crucial meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Reservation Rules to address grievances and review existing policies.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmad Rana, along with Commissioner Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, Sanjeev Verma, Secretary Law, Achal Sethi, and representatives from the General Administration Department.
The Sub-Committee deliberated on the concerns raised by various aspirants and students regarding the current reservation policies. Several aspects of the policy were thoroughly examined to ensure a balanced approach that addresses the issues brought forward.
The committee, established last month, was tasked with investigating grievances surrounding the reservation rules and suggesting recommendations to improve the framework. A comprehensive report will be submitted to the Council of Ministers, chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, for further consideration.
