Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend and address the 81st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi, on June 2.
In a post shared online, PM Modi announced that he will deliver his address at 5 PM at the IATA AGM being held at Bharat Mandapam. He mentioned that the event will be attended by key stakeholders from the global aviation sector.
According to the IATA website, the AGM and the World Air Transport Summit (WATS) are being held from June 1 to 3 and are hosted by Indian airline IndiGo. The event brings together top leadership from airlines, aviation-related industries, and government representatives to discuss the challenges and developments in the aviation sector amid a complex and evolving global landscape.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi also met with President Santiago Pena Palacios of Paraguay at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. President Palacios, on his first State Visit to India, was given a ceremonial welcome and Guard of Honour at Palam Air Force Station. He was received by Minister of State Harsh Vardhan Malhotra, reflecting the strong and growing bilateral relationship between India and Paraguay.
Randhir Jaiswal of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also shared a message welcoming President Pena to India, noting that his visit marks an important step in strengthening ties between the two nations.
The MEA highlighted that the visit, scheduled from June 2 to June 4, aims to enhance cooperation between India and Paraguay in political, economic, and cultural areas.
