Urges Govt. to purchase power from anywhere but ensure people don’t suffer amid cold wave

Srinagar, Dec 21: JKPC President and MLA Handwara, Sajad Lone issued a strongly-worded statement today condemning the escalating power crisis that has plunged Kashmir into darkness amid record-low temperatures.

Lone expressed concern over the immense hardships faced by the people, stating, “Electricity outages are creating their own records. Supply is at its elusive best and even when it is restored, consistency remains a rarity.”

He emphasized the urgency of the situation, highlighting the suffering caused by the biting cold, and called on the authorities to ensure a seamless electricity supply.

“Demand will remain high in this freezing weather. Supply is the issue. Purchase from wherever possible but ensure adequate electricity for the suffering population,” Lone urged.
