Member Parliament Aga Ruhullah to lead peaceful protest outside CM’s residence over reservation policy
Plans protest against 60% reservation for non-general categories
Srinagar, Dec 22: Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah has announced a peaceful protest outside the Chief Minister’s official residence on Gupkar Road tomorrow, demanding a rational approach to the reservation policy in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ruhullah, who had earlier urged the government to address the issue by December 22, emphasized his commitment to standing with those seeking fairness in the policy. He stated that if the matter was not resolved by the deadline, he would join the protest at 2 pm tomorrow.
Calling for a dignified demonstration, he urged participants to focus on genuine demands and avoid political exploitation of the issue. Ruhullah also called on those seeking political gain to show their sincerity by participating in the protest.
The ongoing debate over the reservation policy, which increased the share for reserved categories to 60%, while reducing the general category to 40%, has intensified, with calls for its revocation growing louder
