Srinagar, Dec 16 (TGT): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (JKPC) leader Sajad Lone launched a sharp attack on former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, accusing him of failing to address key political issues, including the restoration of statehood.
Speaking to TGT, Lone criticized Omar Abdullah’s leadership, alleging a lack of seriousness in addressing the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He remarked, “If restoring statehood was a priority, Omar Abdullah would have united all parties, including the BJP, to press the demand before the central government. But instead, we see no real action or commitment from him.”
Lone further accused the former Chief Minister of mismanaging governance during his tenure, claiming that this legacy continues to affect the current political environment. “Even now, there are ministers and officials who misuse their power to target individuals, block payments, and further alienate the people. This stems from a legacy of poor governance under leaders like Omar Abdullah,” he stated.
Referring to Omar Abdullah’s comments on the Congress election results, Lone accused him of mixing regional and national aspirations, calling it a “recipe for disaster.” He argued that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been let down by leaders prioritizing personal political gain and appeasing national parties over addressing local issues.
Lone also alleged that Omar Abdullah has failed to take a strong stand against the BJP, saying, “This is not about fighting for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It seems more about appeasing the central leadership, including Prime Minister Modi.” (TGT)
