Jammu, April 09: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to review the preparations for the smooth and transparent conduct of the NEET (UG) 2025 examination across Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by top officials including Additional Chief Secretary (Education) Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Commissioners, Directors of School Education, officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA), and senior Education Department officers.
Dulloo stressed the need for seamless coordination between the civil administration and NTA to ensure a professional and fair examination process. He instructed all Deputy Commissioners to personally inspect the designated exam centres and collaborate with NTAโs City Coordinators to finalize logistics and ensure all necessary amenities are in place.
Both Divisional Commissioners were directed to arrange security and administrative oversight at every centre, including deployment of duty magistrates and police personnel. โThe credibility of the administration and police is at stake. Itโs vital we handle this examination with the highest level of professionalism,โ Dulloo emphasized.
The overall arrangements will be supervised by the Additional Chief Secretary, School Education. The Chief Secretary also asked district and divisional administrations to promptly flag any concerns for immediate redressal and directed the UT NTA Coordinator to maintain regular contact with the ACS for alignment with national standards.
Shantmanu informed the meeting that the final list of examination centres will be provided by the NTA on Thursday. He also asked officials to gather and distribute contact details of all City Coordinators for effective coordination, assuring full support for the smooth conduct of the NEET (UG) exam.
Both Divisional Commissioners reported that several suitable exam centres, including colleges with adequate infrastructure, have already been shortlisted, and necessary certifications are underway.
It is pertinent to mention that the NEET (UG) 2025 exam is scheduled for May 4, 2025, and will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode using OMR sheets. The application window was open from February 7 to March 7, while the city intimation slip is expected on April 26, followed by admit cards around May 1.
