Irregularities in Recruitment Process Under Investigation

Srinagar, Jan 23: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted its first raid in connection with the fire services scam investigation, targeting the residence of Mohammad Yaqoob Dar, a retired KAS officer, in the Batengoo area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Dar, the son of the late Ab Wahab Dar, previously served as Chairman (Technical) and Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO) in the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) Department.

An official stated that the raid, led by an officer of DySP rank, was conducted in relation to FIR No. 01-2025 registered at the Central Kashmir Police Station. The case pertains to alleged irregularities in the recruitment process for Fireman and Fireman Driver positions within the department.

The investigation encompasses members of the Departmental Recruitment Board, including its Chairmen, the Technical Committee, and other officials associated with the recruitment process. M/S LMES IT LLP, represented by its main partner Maharaj Krishan Wali, as well as various beneficiaries, are also under scrutiny.

Further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the irregularities and identify all thosei nvolved.
