Arms Cache Discovered in Awantipora School

Joint Operation by Security Forces Uncovers Weapons in Pulwama District

Srinagar, Jan 23: In a significant operation, security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from a government primary school in the Larmooh area of Awantipora, located in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Officials stated that the joint operation was carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, 42 Rashtriya Rifles, and the 130 Battalion of the CRPF. The recovered items include a grenade, an under-barrel grenade launcher (UBGL), an electric detonator, a non-electric detonator, ten bullets, and a pistol magazine.

“Further investigation is underway to determine the source and purpose of the hidden weaponry,” an official said.

The discovery has raised concerns about the misuse of public institutions, with security forces intensifying their vigilance int he area.
