Banihal, Apr 11: At least eight members of a nomadic family were injured and twenty sheep and goats perished in a road accident inside the Chenani-Nashri tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Friday, officials said.
According to a police official, a truck (registration number JK21-3479) carrying the nomadic family was heading from Jammu towards Ramban when it rear-ended another vehicle (registration number JK21A-4397) inside the tunnel.
The collision resulted in injuries to eight people from the nomadic family, who were subsequently shifted to Chenani Hospital for treatment. Additionally, 20 sheep and goats belonging to the family died on the spot.
