Srinagar, April 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has approved the temporary deputation of 36 police officers to Saudi Arabia for Haj 2025 duties, following a request from the Ministry of Minority Affairs and necessary clearances from the J&K Police Headquarters and CID.
These officers will be stationed under the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, where they will support the annual pilgrimage by serving as Haj Officers and Haj Superintendents. Among the appointed personnel are three Superintendents of PoliceโPeerzada Aijaz Ahmed, Ruhail Mircha, and Mohd Muzaffer Janโemphasizing the significance of this international deployment.
The deputation list features a wide range of ranks, including Inspectors, Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), Selection Grade Constables, and Constables, reflecting a well-rounded and experienced team. Notable names include Inspectors Gowhar Ahmad Bhat and Mubashar Hussain Shah, and ASIs Zahoor Ahmad Wani and Bilal Ahmad Ganaie.
All selected officers have been directed to report to the Ministry of Minority Affairs at the CGO Complex in New Delhi on April 21, 2025, to complete necessary formalities before their overseas duty. They will also receive an advance Travel Allowance in accordance with standard government procedures.
This initiative highlights the cooperative efforts between the central government and the J&K administration to ensure seamless arrangements for Haj pilgrims, while also demonstrating confidence in local police personnel to handle responsibilities on an international level.
