Kupwara, May 31: Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, on Saturday reaffirmed the Jammu and Kashmir governmentโ€™s dedication to reviving the tourism industry, expressing confidence that the sector will soon recover.

 

Speaking to reporters after a review meeting in Kupwara, Wani, according to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the administration is actively working to rebuild touristsโ€™ confidence. He added that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is personally involved in the efforts, including on-ground visits and discussions with stakeholders to rejuvenate tourism in the Valley.

 

Wani conveyed optimism about increasing tourist footfall, stating, โ€œWeโ€™re seeing the results of our confidence-building efforts, and the sector will be back on track shortly.โ€

 

When asked about the government’s pledge to provide free electricity to households in the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) category, Wani confirmed that implementation is underway. โ€œThe process has started, and eligible families will benefit soon,โ€ he said.

 

He further noted that key sectors such as Health, Education, Roads, and Sports were thoroughly reviewed during the meeting. โ€œWe are committed to progress across these areas, and people will soon see tangible development,โ€ Wani concluded.
