Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Srinagar on Thursday, where he inspected debris from Pakistani shells displayed at Badami Bagh Cantonment. These shells were fired during the recent India-Pakistan conflict that followed Operation Sindoor.
While interacting with the armed forces, Singh praised their success and valor in the operation, attributing the victory to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He commended the Indian Army for its precision and firm stance against terrorism.
Singh strongly criticized Pakistanโs handling of nuclear weapons, questioning whether such arms are safe in the hands of what he called a “rogue” nation. He urged the international community to consider placing Pakistanโs nuclear arsenal under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
He also lauded the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their united stance and visible anger against terrorism and Pakistanโs actions. Singh said he came to Srinagar to feel the spirit and strength that helped defeat the enemy, emphasizing that the destruction of Pakistani posts during Operation Sindoor would leave a lasting impact.
His visit came shortly after Prime Minister Modi’s inspection of the Adampur Air Base earlier in the week.
