Srinagar/Jammu, May 12: Multiple sightings of drones near the international border in Jammu triggered a swift response from Indian air defense units. The drones, believed to have originated from Pakistan, were spotted over Samba, Udhampur, RS Pura, and Jammu city, prompting alerts and blackout measures across the region.
Army officials confirmed that several drones were successfully intercepted and shot down. A senior Army officer told Rising Kashmir that the drones were detected near Samba and were being effectively dealt with. โThereโs no cause for panic,โ he added.
In Samba, residents reported seeing red flashes in the sky and hearing explosions as the drones were engaged. In response, authorities imposed blackouts in sensitive locations, including Gajansoo, Bari Brahmana, Sainik Colony, Vaishno Devi, and the Yatra track, to counter potential threats.

Drone activity reportedly intensified around 8:30 PM, with multiple unmanned aerial vehicles spotted hovering near sensitive military installations, including the Northern Command and Air Force Station in Udhampur.
