SRINAGAR, MAY 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday led a high-level meeting to assess the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) operations, stressing the need to remove procedural delays and ensure a transparent, efficient, and timely recruitment process.
The meeting included Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary Finance, Commissioner Secretaries of General Administration and Cooperatives, Secretary Law, JKSSB Chairperson Indu Kanwal Chib, and other senior officials.
JKSSB Chairperson Indu Kanwal Chib presented a detailed report on recruitment activities since 2019, providing department-wise data on advertised posts, exams underway, and selections nearing completion. She highlighted challenges such as delays in receiving department requisitions and the need to update recruitment rules to reflect current job needs. Several vacancies remain unadvertised due to these issues.
To boost fairness and transparency, the Board proposed conducting all future recruitment exams under CCTV surveillance. The meeting also discussed delays in Class IV recruitment.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took serious note of the delays, directing JKSSB to speed up the recruitment process and address all pending procedural obstacles. He also urged improvements in the Boardโs infrastructure and legal and administrative systems.
Affirming the governmentโs commitment to transparent and accountable governance, Omar stated, โWe will make every effort to ensure a fair and timely recruitment process. It is our duty to strengthen public trust, improve institutional efficiency, and fill vacancies to provide job opportunities to the qualified youth of Jammu and Kashmir.โ
