Liverpool, April 11: Liverpool have put an end to months of speculation by announcing that star forward Mohamed Salah has signed a new long-term contract, keeping him at the club until 2027.
The new deal puts to rest rumours about a possible free transfer exit and confirms the Egyptian forwardโs commitment to the Reds, where he has become the clubโs third-highest all-time goal scorer. The contract extension means Salah will stay at Anfield until the age of 35.
โItโs great. Iโve had my best years hereโeight so farโand hopefully it will be ten,โ Salah said in a statement. โI enjoy my football and my life here. I signed because I believe we can win many more big trophies together.โ
Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017 for ยฃ43.9 million, Salah has made a massive impact, ranking just behind Ian Rush and Roger Hunt in the clubโs goal-scoring history. Heโs also sixth in assists, with potential to climb further.
At 32, Salah remains a crucial figure under manager Arne Slotโs system. Despite only one season under the Dutchman, he already ranks second in total goal contributions among all players Slot has managed, trailing only Santiago Gimenez.
Salahโs trophy cabinet at Liverpool includes seven major titles: the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, and two League Cups. Individually, heโs claimed three Premier League Golden Boots, two PFA Player of the Year awards, and two FWA Footballer of the Year titles.
