Jammu, June 1: Amid spiritual devotion and tight security, the annual Mata Kheer Bhawani Yatra-2025 was formally flagged off from Jammu today, marking the beginning of the journey to various temples across Kashmir Valley.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, officiated the flag-off ceremony, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, and Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Dr. Arvind Karwani.
The event saw the presence of numerous senior officials from both civil and police departments, including DIG JKS Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, Director Urban Local Bodies Manisha Sareen, Director Tourism Jammu Vikas Gupta, ADM Jammu Rakesh Kumar, SP Rural Brijesh Kumar Sharma, CAO Relief Shiwani Bhan, AC Relief Kailash Devi, Tehsildar and SDPO Nagrota, as well as Camp Commandants and Zonal Officers from the Relief Organization.
To ensure a smooth pilgrimage for over 2,500 devotees, the Relief Organisation, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC), arranged transportation. The pilgrims will visit prominent Kheer Bhawani temples at Tulmulla (Ganderbal), Tikker (Kupwara), Devsar and Manzam (Kulgam), and Logripora (Anantnag), with Tulmulla hosting the largest gathering on Jyeshtha Ashtami, June 3.
A scheduled stop was also arranged by the District Administration of Ramban at Chandarkot to provide rest and refreshments for the pilgrims en route to their destinations.
