Srinagar, Apr 17: A nomadic family suffered a major setback after a lightning strike killed dozens of their livestock during seasonal migration in Rajouri district.

Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of Treru Moughla, was en route to the upper reaches of Pir Panjal for a temporary stay in Badhaal village, Kotranka sub-division, when lightning struck on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The incident led to the death of many goats and sheep, resulting in losses amounting to several lakhs.
