Srinagar, May 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar on Tuesday to assess the current security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and finalize security arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.

 

The meeting saw the participation of top military and civil officials, including Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, and senior commanders from the 15, 16, and 9 Corps, along with Air Vice Marshal Vikas Sharma. Key administrative and intelligence officers, including Principal Secretary (Home) Chandraker Bharti and CEO SASB Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, were also present.

 

LG Sinha lauded the recent success of โ€˜Operation Sindoorโ€™, which resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists, and praised the collaborative efforts of the armed forces, intelligence agencies, and J&K Police in upholding peace and security across the region.

 

He stressed the need for sustained alertness and directed all security forces to carry out targeted, intelligence-driven operations to eliminate terrorist threats and dismantle their support systems. Reaffirming the goal of a โ€œterror-free Jammu and Kashmir,โ€ he urged continued coordination among all agencies.

 

The meeting also focused on security preparations for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, set to take place from July 3 to August 9, 2025. The Lieutenant Governor instructed officials to ensure comprehensive safety measures and seamless arrangements for the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
