Baltal, June 11: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today performed the traditional Pratham Puja at the sacred Amarnath Cave, officially marking the beginning of preparations for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025. The pilgrimage is set to commence from July 3, via the twin routes of Pahalgam (Anantnag) and Baltal (Ganderbal), and conclude on August 9, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan.

In a message shared on social media platform X, the Lieutenant Governor expressed devotion and hope: โ€œHar Har Mahadev! Paid my obeisance to Baba Barfani and performed the โ€˜Pratham Pujaโ€™ at the Holy Cave, marking the ceremonial beginning of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. May Baba Amarnathji continue to shower his divine blessings on all of us.โ€

While addressing devotees, LG Sinha urged pilgrims from across the country to participate in large numbers and seek the blessings of Baba Amarnathji. He prayed for the health, prosperity, and well-being of the people and reassured that the administration is fully prepared for a smooth and spiritually enriching yatra.

He emphasized that comprehensive arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety and convenience of the pilgrims. โ€œJ&K Administration, Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, Army, BRO, CAPFs, J&K Police and all stakeholders are working with devotion and coordination to ensure a seamless pilgrimage,โ€ the LG stated, appreciating the contributions of civil society, local service providers, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier in the day, LG Sinha visited the Baltal Base Camp Hospital to assess medical readiness. He instructed health officials to guarantee round-the-clock availability of doctors, sufficient medical supplies, equipment, and oxygen to safeguard the health of the pilgrims.

The ceremonial puja, held on the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima, was attended by top officials including Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava (GOC 15 Corps), DGP Nalin Prabhat, CEO SASB Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, and IGP Kashmir VK Birdi, among others.

With the yatra set to begin in less than a month, preparations are intensifying. The administration has committed to ensuring a secure and well-organized journey with strengthened infrastructure, enhanced services, and coordinated efforts across all pilgrimage routes and camps.

โ€œI have complete faith that the improved arrangements will make this yearโ€™s yatra a spiritually fulfilling and memorable experience for all devotees,โ€ LG Manoj Sinha concluded.
