Kishtwar, May 21: Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan conducted a detailed review of the ongoing maintenance work on the Kishtwarโ€“Paddar Road ahead of the Shri Machail Mata Ji Yatra 2025. Officials informed him that large amounts of construction material dumped by the public on the road were causing obstruction and hindering vehicle movement. The DC instructed the Tehsildars of Nagseni and Kishtwar, along with the OC GREF, to clear the debris promptly. He also directed CVPPL to immediately repair and reinforce the landslide-prone Sinhad Nallah (Pathar Naki) section to ensure pilgrim safety and smooth transit. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) was ordered to closely supervise CVPPLโ€™s work to maintain quality standards. GREF was tasked with ensuring effective and high-quality upkeep of the entire road to facilitate hassle-free travel during the Yatra. Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner instructed JPDCL Kishtwar to install a 50 KVA DG set at Machail Yatri Bhawan, Gulabgarh, complete electrification on the buildingโ€™s top floor, and set up lighting along the Yatra route and at base camps in Gulabgarh and Chishoti.
