Jammu, April 09: Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Wednesday adjourned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly sine die, marking the end of the 21-day Budget Session that began on March 3 with the Lieutenant Governorโs address and concluded this afternoon.
Highlighting the legislative activity, the Speaker said that the Assembly received 1,355 questions, out of which 154 main questions and 353 supplementary questions were addressed. He added that 1,738 Cut Motions were received, with 1,731 taken up for discussion.
Regarding legislation, Rather informed that three Government Bills were introduced and passed, while 33 Private Membersโ Bills were also listed. Additionally, 78 Calling Attention Motions were submitted, 23 were listed, and 34 were disallowed.
He further stated that 109 resolutions were submitted during the session, with 85 admitted and 14 listed for debate. The Assembly used more than 39 hours of working time during this period.
The Speaker noted that the 21-day session was the second-longest held in the country in 2025. He extended his gratitude to the members for their cooperation and also thanked the Assembly Secretariat, Information Department, Police, Health Department, Doordarshan, Radio, and the media for their contributions to the smooth functioning of the session.
