Srinagar, April 16: Hajj flights for 2025 from Srinagar to Saudi Arabia are set to commence on May 4, with the final flight scheduled for May 15. The announcement was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, aimed at reviewing preparations for the annual pilgrimage.
Bidhuri directed all concerned departments and agencies to coordinate closely to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for the pilgrims. He emphasized the importance of timely and foolproof arrangements and issued clear instructions for intensifying ongoing preparations.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners from across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, along with senior officials from the Airports Authority of India, Police, Emigration and Customs, Health, and various civic and utility services. Representatives from the Hajj Committee, J&K Bank, CISF, Air Force, and other key agencies were also present.
The Divisional Commissioner instructed all DCs to activate Hajj Cells in their respective offices for monitoring preparations at the district level. He also directed the Health Department to establish vaccination camps for pilgrims and ensure timely issuance of vaccination certificates.
Addressing logistical aspects, Bidhuri asked J&K Bank to ensure adequate foreign exchange availability at Hajj House Bemina and the Srinagar Airport to facilitate currency exchange for pilgrims. He further instructed the PHE, KPDCL, and Srinagar Municipal Corporation to guarantee uninterrupted water, electricity, and sanitation services at Hajj House.
Additional directives included the repair of interior roads leading to the Hajj House and the provision of proper boarding and lodging for pilgrims from Jammu and Ladakh, keeping in view weather and road conditions. The Customs and Immigration departments were also asked to install sufficient X-ray machines and deploy technical staff at the Hajj House for swift processing of pilgrims at the airport.
