Rajouri, May 30 – At least five people sustained injuries in a road accident on the Jammu-Poonch Highway near Bakhar village in Rajouri district on Thursday.
According to officials, a Maruti Ignis (JK12C-0860) en route from Jammu to Poonch collided with a tipper (JK11E-7913). All five passengers in the Ignis were injured and initially taken to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sunderbani. They were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Mohammad Aslam (son of Abdullah), Akhtar Malik (son of Abdullah), Masood Malik (son of Mohammad Abdullah), Abdul Qayoom (son of Abdul Ghani) — all residents of Poonch or Surankot — and Sheema Akhtar (daughter of Mohammad Abdullah), also from Poonch.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings.
