Srinagar, April 20: Union Minister and MP Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed sorrow over the death of three people in a cloudburst in Ramban district. Calling the incident โ€œunfortunate,โ€ he assured that all possible assistanceโ€”both financial and logisticalโ€”is being extended to the affected families.

Dr. Singh stated that the region experienced a severe hailstorm, strong winds, and multiple landslides overnight, which also blocked the National Highway and caused property damage. โ€œSadly, weโ€™ve lost three lives,โ€ he said.

He praised the prompt response of the district administration, noting, โ€œIโ€™ve been in continuous contact with Deputy Commissioner Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary. The administration acted swiftly and saved many lives.โ€

Dr. Singh reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Ramban, stating that aid is already being provided and that additional support, including from his personal resources, is available if needed.

He urged the public to remain calm and not panic. Meanwhile, rescue and clearance operations are ongoing to restore connectivity and assist those stranded due to the highway blockage
