New Delhi, Apr 23: In response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the government is set to convene an all-party meeting on Thursday, according to official sources. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to preside over the meeting, with Home Minister Amit Shah and Singh already engaging with leaders from various political parties.
The move comes after several opposition parties, including the Congress, urged the Centre to hold an all-party discussion on the matter.
During the meeting, Singh is expected to brief party leaders on the details of the attack, which claimed the lives of at least 26 civilians — one of the deadliest targeting non-combatants in recent years.
Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security to review the situation and the government’s response to the tragedy.
