Srinagar, May 30: The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted raids at multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley as part of an ongoing probe into suspected terrorist connections, officials confirmed on Friday.
In a statement, the CIK said the searches were aimed at identifying individuals believed to be linked with terrorist groups. The operations involved coordinated raids at undisclosed sites to collect evidence tied to terror activities in the region.
Police reaffirmed their commitment to combating terrorism and safeguarding civilians, noting that security measures were heightened in sensitive zones as a precaution.
This operation comes amid intensified efforts by security forces to eliminate terrorism in the Valley, following recent incidents that have raised alarms about attempts to disrupt peace.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation on May 23, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out synchronized raids at 18 locations in four districts of Jammu province. The crackdown, targeting the terror network, led to the recovery of significant incriminating materials.
SIA teams, with help from local police and magistrates, conducted the operations simultaneously as part of a broader campaign to dismantle sleeper cells and disrupt militant networks.
Twelve of the 18 raids were conducted in Surankote, three in Haveli tehsil of Poonch, and one each in Rajouri town, Ramnagar in Udhampur, and Ramban. The seized materials are under thorough analysis, and multiple individuals have been summoned to SIA Jammu for questioning.
Authorities say the raids followed actionable intelligence gathered through the agencyโs continued efforts to expose and dismantle terror-support systems within Jammu province.
The SIA emphasized its ongoing commitment to destroying terror infrastructure and ensuring the region’s safety.
