Jammu, April 13: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday announced that a 50-year-old man, recently found wandering near the International Border (IB) in the Akhnoor sector, has been safely reunited with his family.
Identified as Venkata Rao from Nelaturu village in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, he had been missing for the past three months. His return brought immense relief and happiness to his loved ones, the BSF said, underscoring its dedication to both national security and humanitarian efforts.
According to a statement from BSF Jammu, Rao was stopped during a routine check on March 31, 2025, near the border area in Akhnoor. Unable to provide full details about himself, BSF personnel took extra measures to trace his family.
On April 11, 2025, the BSF successfully reunited him with his family after verifying his identity. His safe return was a moment of immense joy for his relatives.
The BSF emphasized that the incident reflects its continued commitment not just to guarding the nationโs borders but also to helping those in need.
