Jammu, April 6: An army soldier lost his life on Sunday in an accidental firing incident in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to official sources, the soldier was found with critical injuries while on duty early in the morning. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead by doctors.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Vijay Kumar, a resident of Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan. Preliminary reports suggest the cause of death was an accidental discharge of his service weapon.
