𝐀𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐒𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬

Srinagar, Apr 22: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur on Tuesday voiced strong support for the ‘One Nation, One Election’ concept, calling it a move in the national interest. He stated that holding simultaneous elections would conserve resources and provide a boost to India’s GDP.

While speaking to media personnel in Srinagar, Thakur emphasized that frequent elections lead to administrative disruptions and significant public expenditure. “By adopting this system, a substantial amount of capital can be saved, which will contribute to the country’s economic growth,” he said.

According to a KNS correspondent, Thakur also took aim at the Congress party, questioning its position on major national matters such as Article 370, the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the National Register of Citizens (NRC), the Babri Masjid verdict, and the triple talaq ban.

He credited the BJP-led government for implementing historic reforms that, in his view, have fortified the nation and empowered marginalized communities, particularly Muslims. Thakur cited legislation like the Waqf Bill, NRC, and CAA as examples of policies designed with the broader public interest in mind.

Addressing the security landscape in Jammu and Kashmir, Thakur noted a significant improvement in law and order under the current administration, though he acknowledged recent militant incidents in parts of Jammu. He assured that a “zero-tolerance policy” remains in place and that strict action is being taken against those involved.

Thakur also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for making what he termed as anti-India remarks while abroad. “It is regrettable that Rahul Gandhi continues to speak against India even while in the United States,” he added.
