Srinagar โ Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar on Monday evening, where he was welcomed at the airport by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Upon his arrival, Shah visited the residence of DySP Humayun Muzamil, who was among four officers killed in a gunfight with militants in Kokernag, South Kashmir, on September 13, 2023.
According to sources cited by the news agency KNO, Shah is slated to hold meetings at the Raj Bhawan later in the evening and may also engage with individuals and delegations during his stay.
The Home Minister had earlier arrived in Jammu on Sunday, where he chaired key meetings and visited the โVinayโ BSF border outpost in Kathua, addressing BSF personnel stationed there.
Shah is expected to remain in Srinagar until Tuesday afternoon. On Tuesday morning at 11 am, he will preside over a high-level review of development projects at Raj Bhawan, followed by a comprehensive security briefing attended by top officials from J&K Police, the Army, CAPFs, intelligence agencies, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
