Srinagar, April 4 : A high-level meeting on forest fire prevention and management was chaired by Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle, Tawheed Ahmad Deva, at Sheikh bagh Forest Complex, Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Director of the Forest Protection Force, Kashmir, along with Divisional Forest Officers, Deputy Directors of the Forest Protection Force, and Wildlife Wardens from across the region.
Discussions centered on recent forest fires affecting various divisions in Kashmir. Officials reviewed the situation, identified causes, and formulated strategies for improved prevention and mitigation.
CF Srinagar emphasized the importance of forest conservation and reaffirmed the departmentโs commitment to proactive measures. It was noted that all district forest fire control rooms are operating 24/7, ensuring coordinated responses through collaboration between the Forest Department, Forest Protection Force, and Wildlife Protection Department.
Key measures discussed included raising public awareness on fire prevention, enhancing surveillance, and ensuring strict legal action against those responsible for causing fires. Authorities urged citizens to cooperate and remain vigilant in protecting Kashmirโs forests.
