𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐊𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐢, 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲

Ganderbal, June 02: On the eve of the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela, Tulmulla village in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district witnessed a large influx of devotees, particularly from the Kashmiri Pandit community, at the revered Mata Kheer Bhawani shrine. The gathering reflected deep religious devotion and a strong message of communal harmony.

Top officials, including Secretary of Health and Medical Education, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, visited the shrine to assess the arrangements and ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience.

Dr. Abid Rasheed Shah highlighted the robust medical setup put in place in coordination with district authorities. “We’ve ensured 24/7 medical services, including emergency care, first aid units, and ambulances at strategic points. Adequate medical personnel and essential supplies have been deployed,” he stated.

Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidhuri reviewed the broader arrangements, instructing officials to maintain seamless inter-departmental coordination. He confirmed that preparations for traffic management, electricity, water supply, sanitation, and security were in full effect to support the devotees.

Dedicated to Goddess Ragnya Devi, the annual mela is more than a religious observance—it symbolizes Kashmir’s deep-rooted culture of unity and mutual respect. The temple premises were filled with devotional songs and prayers as worshippers expressed appreciation for the arrangements.

“We’re grateful for the administration’s efforts—everything from cleanliness to free services has been excellent,” one pilgrim shared emotionally.

Adding to the warmth of the occasion, local Muslim residents welcomed returning Pandit devotees with flowers and heartfelt greetings. “It’s not just a religious visit—it’s an emotional return,” said a devotee. “Their gestures show that the spirit of brotherhood lives on.”

Surrounded by majestic Chinar trees, the temple glowed with light as devotees offered kheer and milk to the goddess, praying for peace and togetherness.

Held annually on Zyestha Ashtami, the Kheer Bhawani Mela stands as a moving tribute to Kashmir’s shared heritage and continues to bring communities together in celebration and faith.
