𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐦 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡

Srinagar, June 04: The Youth Services and Sports Department in Budgam, under the supervision of District Officer Ghulam Hassan Lone, is actively promoting sports from the zonal to district levels. As part of this effort, the department recently organized inter-zonal district-level competitions in kabaddi, kho-kho, and volleyball at the Budgam sports stadium.

The events, held under the “Inter 14” category, saw enthusiastic participation from 14-year-old players representing various zones. These young athletes showcased their talent and competed to represent their respective zones in their chosen sports.

The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Zonal Physical Education Officers Tariq Ahmad (Budgam) and Syed Muzamil Geelani (Chadoora), along with Shakeel ul Rehman, in charge of sports section activities. On the occasion, officials encouraged the participants to stay away from drugs and embrace sports with dedication and passion.

In addition to the sporting events, the department is also conducting several programmes aimed at raising environmental awareness and fostering a sense of civic responsibility among youth across the district.
